News from the Church of the Good Shepherd Sacred Space One week ago, on September 6, we signed a contract with Lambrian Construction of Natick for renovations of our Sacred Space. The work will include opening the apse, installing closets in the chapel and the back of the sanctuary, improved lighting, relocating the alter, moving the organ console, and removing the pews. Work will begin September 22. Our service on September 21 will be our last service in the present configuration, and we will move then to the Upper Parish Hall, where we will be meeting until the completion of work. We are scheduled to have the work completed by December. We look forward to a Christmas service in the new space, marking our 125th year! Very shortly we will inform you in more detail about our need for help in this endeavor, particularly in purchasing chairs. We expect to have a sample chair available soon. Faire on the Square On Saturday, September 21, Good Shepherd will host a table at the annual Watetown Faire on the Square. As in past years we will be handing out small apples and candy. We need help with the following: Donations of bags of candy There will be a signup sheet this Sunday. Also feel free to contact Steve Steadman if you can help. This is a very important outreach effort for us to have visibility in the town! Celebration Sunday On Sunday, September 28, we will be celebrating our ministries. We will use the Lower Parish Hall for the displays of all our activities. Please join us for this exciting and fun occasion. More details will be forthcoming. Peace be with you!
